My name is Robert H. Ashburner, Jr. better known to my friends as Bob or Bobby.

I am not as young, nor as light on foot or strong as I was in my younger years, but I continue to enjoying running as a way to keep it healthy.  With that said, this blog is for anyone that lives in Virginia Beach or is simply visiting on vacation and looking for a new route or simply would like information on where a visiting runner can go to get their exercise out on the trail.  As I have the time to blog and discover a new route or have a new recommendation for a vendor or source of information a runner, cyclist or tri-athlete may find useful I will update this blog so please check back regularly.  If you find this information useful please patronize the recommended vendors and as it becomes of use to you please introduce yourself and your family and friends to me directly and tell them my name is Robert H. This being my first blog I think it appropriate to start at 1^st street in Virginia Beach.

One of my favorite places to run in Va. Beach is the Virginia Beach Ocean Front.

The Virginia Beach ocean front has ample parking all along the route and provides 5.35 miles of flat running across your choice of soft sand, the flat concrete of the board walk and a middle ground of an asphalt covered bike path from 1st street to 40th and back.
