Although there’s been a great deal of speculation, to this day no one fully understands what happened to the individuals Lord Walter Raleigh left behind in the Roanoke colony he helped establish. For all intents and purposes the people who had remained behind in the new world simply disappeared. There was never any sign of disease or attack. It was as if the entire group of people simply got tired of being there and left. The Lost Colony play in Hampton Roads explores this mystery. Adults will love it, but it might be difficult for young children to sit through.
